Deleting your data

Last updated 6 August 2026

Whoever you are, the short version is: email hello@nightdesk.com.ng and we will delete your data within 30 days, usually much sooner. There is no form to fill in and no account to create.

If you messaged a hotel on Instagram

Nightdesk answered you on behalf of a property. We hold the messages in that conversation, the Instagram account identifier the platform gave us, and — if you gave them while booking — your name and phone number. We do not have your card details; those never reach us.

To have it removed, email us with:

  • The Instagram handle you messaged from
  • The property you messaged, if you remember it

We will find the conversation and delete it. You can also ask the property directly — they can request it on your behalf.

One exception: if you have a paid, upcoming booking, we keep the booking record until after your stay. The property needs it to let you in, and deleting it would mean turning you away at the door. We delete it once the stay is over.

If you run a property

Tell us you are closing the account. We delete your property details, rooms, rates, staff logins, guest conversations, and your stored Paystack and Instagram credentials.

Ask first if you want an export — once it is deleted we cannot get it back.

If you simply stop paying and say nothing, we delete everything within 90 days of the account closing.

Revoking Instagram access instead

To stop Nightdesk reaching your Instagram account without deleting anything, remove it from Instagram directly: Settings → Apps and websites → find Nightdesk → Remove. That takes effect immediately and Nightdesk stops answering guests for that account.

What happens to backups

Deleted records disappear from the live system straight away. Encrypted database backups roll over on a 30-day cycle, so a copy may persist in a backup for up to 30 days after deletion. Those backups are not accessible to the application and are only ever used to restore from a failure.
